FAQ's - Permanent Makeup
What is Permanent Makeup?
Often referred to as microblading, lip blush, semi-permanent makeup, PMU, micro pigmentation or cosmetic tattooing. It is a cosmetic technique which deposits pigment into the dermis layer of the skin. Unlike traditional tattooing it is very superficial in the skin using a pigment that breaks down gradually over time with even fading. This can be on the eyebrows, lips and upper eye (eyeliner).

Does it Hurt?
Please do not worry about the pain. You can apply a topical anaesthetic to area to numb the area prior to treatment. This is probably one of the most asked questions but all of my client have said how much more comfortable it was than they expected. I have also had client who have had horror stories previously and have been so relaxed during my treatments. Some have nearly nodded off.... No joke!

How long does the Treatment Take?
You have 2 treatments roughly 6 weeks apart. For the first treatment 2 hours is allowed as at this appointment we are measuring and drawing the perfect brow. We are then choosing the right colour mix for you before actually starting the treatment. The second treatment is a perfecting treatment and so this takes about an hour. The price is inclusive of both treatments.

How long does the Permanent Makeup last?
This will depend on many factors including but not limited to your skin type, lifestyle and sun exposure. The pigment molecules will break down over time and slowly fade. The average is 12 - 18 months when looked after. The pigments fade true to colour so you will just see this colour lighten over time. When you notice the colour has lightened more than your desired look then you can re-book.

What is a Patch Test?
A patch test is something we do at consultation stage. It involves a small scratch / pin prick to ensure you are not allergic to any of the products that will be used during the treatment. All of the products I use are sterile, single use and hypoallergenic.
